The fellows reconvened in-person for the first time since pre-pandemic 2020. Amy Short and Reid Hartmann, MD revisited as panelists and were joined by CPCC Fellow Class of 2022 graduate Mark Hoelzle, MD. The panel met with fellows in breakout sessions to discuss their QI project aims and ideas for development and implementation. The group then reflected on strategies and thoughts on ideal QI environments and how to use the resources available for optimal success.

With years of valuable experience, Short and Hartmann describe how necessary pre-work can facilitate a culture of progress and change.


Discussion panel explores the intersections and dimensions of quality improvement October 22, 2018

This discussion panel featured tips, tricks, and anecdotal how-to’s in a rapidly changing landscape of roles and expectations. The panel featured Amy Short, a Six Sigma Black Belt who has extensive experience in quality improvement within local hospital systems. The panel also featured Shivani Patel, DO MS FAPP, who shared findings from a targeted quality improvement intervention with promising results in a large system office. Reid Hartmann, MD MEd also shared insights, successes and challenges from his work in a family medicine health center.
